Tonight I was lucky enough to witness the first ever screening of Coral: ReKindling Venus, a film by Lynette Wallworth, at the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History. This huge immersive work shows stunning images of fluorescent creatures from coral reefs around the world in gorgeous psychedelic relief. Soundtrack by Max Richter and Fennesz / Sakamoto, and the closing song by Antony and the Johnsons. On 6 June 2012, planetarium domes all over the world will screen the film to coincide with one of the rarest occurrences in astronomy - Venus’ Transit of the Sun. It was co-produced by my friends at Forma, so kudos to them.
