4/12/13 Noveller aka Sarah Lipstate at the Front Room gallery on Roebling in Williamsburg. Sarah performs solo with guitar and effects, building up her compositions with drones, phrases and  looping and utilizing extended technique as a compositional process. Though I only caught the last two pieces, they sounded gorgeous and more in line with the less “guitar like” compositions I remember from her early days playing table-top double neck guitar. She closed with a commission she recently wrote for Cadillac, which she will perform next week in Las Vegas for the unveiling of one of their new vehicles. This piece was super-cinematic and stirring,unfolding with different tones layered and looping like the  end of a film where the defeated hordes are welcomed to heaven.
